Brand refresh for the world's oldest aeronautical society

Established in 1866, the Royal Aeronautical Society is the world’s only professional body dedicated to the aerospace community. As a membership organisation their goal is to further the advancement of aeronautical art, science and engineering around the world.

Having recognised a slowdown in growth of new members over a number of years - and with concern internally, and from board members, that they were looking dated and out of touch with the next generation of aeronautical experts - the society tasked us with bringing their visual identity into the 21st century.

We worked on a complete rebrand, refreshing the logo to give it current and future relevance, whilst retaining their rich heritage. We also developed a full range of membership materials and marketing communications for their numerous conferences and events. This included a comprehensive template system that they could use internally.

In the year after the new identity was implemented, new memberships increased by 15%, and attendees of their events and conferences by 37%.
