Brand refresh for the worlds oldest aeronautical society

Established in 1866 the Royal Aeronautical Society is the world’s only professional body dedicated to the aerospace community. As a membership organisation their goal is to further the advancement of aeronautical art, science and engineering around the world.

Having recognised a slow down in growth of new members over a number of years and with concern internally and from board members that they were looking dated and out of touch with the next generation of aeronautical experts, the society tasked us with bringing their visual identity into the 21st Century.

We worked on a complete rebrand, refreshing the logo to make it relevant to the aeronautical industry today and in the future without losing their rich history and heritage. We also developed a full range of membership materials and marketing communications for their numerous conferences and events, this included a comprehensive template system that they could use internally.

In the year after the new identity was implemented new memberships increased by 15% on the previous year and attendees of their events and conferences increased by 37%.
